A bathroom seems easy enough to prepare for photography, right?
You would be shocked to learn how often people have not adequately prepared their bathrooms for their real estate photography sessions! In this post, we will give you a checklist of all of the things you need to do to prep a bathroom for real estate listing photography.
Thoroughly clean the counter tops and floors.
Clean your mirrors with a streak-free cleaner.
Streaking can show in listing photography, so take extra care when cleaning your bathroom mirrors.
Close the toilet lid.
If you have shower glass, clean it with a special cleaner that removes hard water stains and limescale.
Wipe down all cabinets.
Touch up paint as needed.
Place fresh towels and hand towels.
Be sure to choose the fluffiest and most luxurious ones you have!
Clear counters or toiletries and personal items.
Staging a candle and/or attractive plant on the counter tops can aid in creating a more spa-like feel to your bathrooms, but other miscellaneous personal care items will not.
Clean and polish all faucets and handles.
Removing limescale buildup from showerheads and faucets is also a must; it allows the water to flow better and gives buyers the impression of a well-maintained bathroom.
Remove shampoo and other products from shower or bathtub.
Clean tile grout.
Use cleaners with bleach to clean toilets, tubs, showers, and sinks.
Remove floor scales, bathroom rugs, and laundry hampers.
Make sure all light bulbs are working.
Soft white 100 watt bulbs provide adequate light and are more flattering than stronger bulbs that tend to wash colors out in photos.
